Accord was delighted to host the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves and Department of Science, Innovation and Technology’s Secretary of State, Peter Kyle today at our plant in Fawdon, Newcastle. They met with our colleagues and President EMENA, Paul Tredwell, learning about some of the work that goes into the production of essential medicines.

Their visit coincided with the launch of the new Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund (LSIMF) and the unlocking of a joint £50 million investment deal to boost the manufacture and production of Accord’s essential medicines in Fawdon. Accord is one of the UK’s largest providers of medicines to patients and is proud to supply around 10% of the volume of all medicines to the NHS.

We look forward to supporting the government as ever in their efforts to boost the supply of affordable, high-quality medicines in the UK.
